Eragon Movie

Fox Pictures finally announced real information about the Eragon movie. The movie will be launched at December 15, 2006. Several actors have now been cast for the movie, and Fox Pictures has began production August 1st in Budapest, Hungary. Here’s the first official Cast-In-Costume pictures :

I am so excited for this movie to come out. But i think they ruined Arya. Blonde hair? Come on, it’s supposed to be black since the book says Arya has a long black locks (look the PROLOGUE: SHADE OFFEAR). And her costume looks a lot like Xena:Warrior Princess to me. Also, does she have pointy ears?

Durza just looks…strange, but it’s ok. Galbatorix and Murtagh is just perfect. Ajihad is sort of okay, but i think he would look better bald though. I did expect Broom to look older, with long white beard. And Eragon, i’m disappointed since he looks too… pretty. Not enough like a farmboy nor a person who traveled 400 miles in 8 days.

    i think they did good with the casting but Arya really could use black hair.it makes her more mysterious as she is in the book. well Murtagh is just perfect and so is eragon.im sure theyll make him more dirty at the beggining

    I am so exited for the movie to come out.But with Arya they could of done better ,I mean with blonde hair she looks ok.Durza,Galbatorix,Ajihad and Eragon they did a good goob on.Brom I imagened a little bit older.Murtagh is perfect.

    omg people yall are crazy… first of all, of course the picture’s not goona look *just* like the movie almost a YEAR before it comes out… And Arya’s hair is going to change, just like Eragon’s pretty face is. They’ll make Arya’s ears pointy, and make all the other necessary changes because if they dont, they know that theyll be getting complaints like that all the time. The people in hollywood know what they’re doin, thats why they’re in hollywood. Anyway, the only reason the movie *would* be crappy would be if it was cheaply made or animated. I’m hoping that it will be nice, but its obvious: the movie will be either really good, or a freakin cheaply made movie that the movie people lose lots of money on. But im pretty sure they’re not as stupid as to ruin an awesome book like this on a cheaply made movie :). Well, peace out people, and i hope the movie is everything u expect it should be.
    -Also, of course the characters arent goona look exactly like what u imagined them as, no movie based on a book is.

    I think the movie is just gonna be great.but ther’s one thing u dint think of:Nasuada!
    I know we dont talk much about her in Eragon but I think she needs to have a good actor for her place.
    Arya’s not like I expected her to be….blond but I hope that Andy’s rite….Hrotgar is great and Eragon too.but Ajihod was suposse to have a beard to.Murtagh is exellent.but after all I still think it will be great.

    is that Islanzadi or Arya?
    Eragon is great and Galbatorix too.Brom is….I mean he could be more heu….older.yeah Kevin’s rite I would like to see what Nasuada looks like too….Murtagh is like I imagined Him….like mysterious.

    I agree with the last guy. Durza? I imagined him to have a creepy Glare with slanted, menacing, eyes. And Arya’s just not right. And, once again agreeing, Ajihad was thoght to be bald. But, Galbatorix should look more scary.

    Yes I so agree! they completely screwed up Arya and Brom. Arya is NOT blonde and the clothes she is wearing in that picture make her look to princessy which we all know that she isn’t! And what’s with Brom? He’s supposed to be ancient! That guy looks way too young. He barely has any gray in his hair! Durza’s ok I guess. Thats just not how I pictured him. Eragon is ok too. But he’s not rugged looking which kina ruins the idea of the rough life Eragon has

    I am completely dissapointed with the actors that have been chosen, i mean, the guy playin Eragon looks like a freakin prep, and Arya doesn’t look like an elf to me at all, with all the movies that I have seen, the female elves have had long, black or brown hair, and Brom should be older, with longer hair, and murtagh, i think he should of looked more ragged and he should of had a scar on his face, and i mean it seems like its gonna be a movie where the creatures are gonna look fake, and that Eragon isn’t gonna get his hands dirty at all, and he looks way to old, he looks like he is like 17 or 18, and Galbatorix doesn’t look mean enough, and Durza, he doesn’t look real, and Ajihad should look more plump but yet muscular and down to earth,i mean he lives in a mountain, not this skinny reject, and none of these people look like they can take a hard blow, to tell ya’ll the truth i think this movie is going to get some very bad reviews, its like waaay to fake, god they should of had the director of lord of the rings director direct this movie, i don’t know I don’t even know if I want to waste my time in even watching this movie.

    to start, brom needs to look way more acient and old, i mean the guys like a rider that has lived for ages and this guy looks about 45. And then theres Durza who looks like a guy in a wig. he supposed to be dark and evil and this guy just looks like he’s a total wuss. murtagh looks gud tho just how i imagined him but Eragon looks like some guy who wud get blisters from just holding a sword. Arya has been wrecked, i mean shes supposed to be this elf who can kick your ass anyday and shes blond for pitys sake, shes supposed to be a black haired fierce elf in a black leather outfit.
    i might go see it just coz im a huge fan of the books.

    So happy to know the release date, but anyway, Arya is not going to make me happy. i’ll sit in the theatre and not be able to enjoy my self because she is so not Arya. Brom isn’t to bad and jeremy irons should rock at playing him. Ajihad is good except for the hair. Durza’s not to bad but i didn’t picture him looking so human. Murtagh is okay, but he looks just a little too NOT SCARRED FOR LIFE BY HIS FATHER. Eragon is not too bad, but he seems a little to cocky for me. Question: since when do we actually see Galbatorix in the film? you don’t see him in the book. Arya really is screwed up, i can’t look at her.

    YOu are deffinatly correct! Galbatorix needs to be more scary, with black hair. aAnd Durza, they just messed him up. he needs red eyes and long black hair. Eragon looks very cute! Brom should look older and wiser. and Arya? They messed her up big time.     well I read somewhere that they didn’t want to make it look to LOTR-ish - hence the Urgals look less like orcs, etc. Maybe that’s why they made Arya blonde, so she wouldn’t resemble Arwen. I was pretty surprised - Eragon isn’t supposed to blond either. Brom’s ok, Murtagh is HOT HOT HOTTT - he’s my fave character and Garrett Hedlund’s great, and I think he’s got the whole intense attitude thing right.

    yeah i think your right about Brom and Arya. yeah that really bugged me about her. she was supposed to have dark hair and wasnt her skin supposed to be dark too or am i just remembering wrong! i thought that brom would look older too. but i think eragon is pretty HOT! i dont care if he’s a farm boy he’s frickin gorgeous!!!! durza looks exactly how i thought that he would though.

    Arya should definitely have black hair in the movie, considering she was described having long black hair. I think that she looks too much like a princess. She should look tougher, like she could really put up a fight. Her clothes do not suit her character at all. I didn’t like who they chose for Eragon. The actor looks too perfect. Eragon is supposed to look like he has worked hard and traveled far. His hair doesn’t suit the character at all. I pictured Durza differently. I thought that he should look younger. I pictured Brom looking much older. He is supossed to look like an old story teller. Galbatorix should look more evil. Murtagh and Ajihad turned out all right. I wish that we could see how they did Saphira. She is such a major part of the movie that how they did her could make or break the intire film. This movie could go two ways. They could live up to the books potential with good special effects and costumes, or it could come out looking very cheaply made. I have high hopes for this movie, and I hope that it lives up to all of our expectations.

    first, murtagh is almost perfect for the part but WHAT did they do to Arya!!!! i really hope this picture is not her final version but the trailer (and the movie) are not that far off and wouldnt that have the final version? and on the offical movie site its really obvious she doesnt have pointed ears.

    and about it not being too lotr-ish, who cares!! that was an awesome movie but elves werent created for that movie. if Arya looks like an elf from lotr it just means both movies did a good job of depicting elves! if she doesnt have pointed ears people who havent read the book wont get that shes an elf!!

    brom is too young and durza looks to human. one picture had eragon holding a sword which i think was supposed to be zar’roc but its horrible! i know thats a little picky but the swordis pretty inportant.

    Geez, doesn’t Hollywood EVER get it right?!?

    I expected Arya to look like Monica Belucci, or possibly Catherine Zeta-Jones. I would never have expected Arya to be pictured as a blonde chick wearing light-colored clothing. That’s just not right. Oh, and Ajihad needs to be bald.

    That’s what pissed me off about the Harry Potter movies - there are so many details that the filmmakers could have EASILY gotten right, but they didn’t. They ignored the simple, basic details that made the characters who they are in the book. THAT is what pisses me off to no end.

    Eragon isn’t blonde! Neither is Arya! And it specifically states that she has pointy ears! And why don’t the urgals have horns!?! Durza’s eyes are supposed to be maroon, not green or blue or whatever color they are! Where are the Twins? I hate them, but they’re kind-of important to the story! They don’t even mention Nasuada’s name! Murtagh wasn’t put in a cage, and they let him fight in the battle, he didn’t get out on his own!

    Also, Murtagh is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY HOT!!!!
