Mahalo Lists Some of Filmdom’s Best Evil Robots

Isaac Asimov had his three rules of robotics — they can’t hurt humans, they must obey humans, they must act to protect themselves except when it would violate the first two rules — but we all know that robots are a lot more interesting when they break the rules. In fact, most people are more interesting when they break the rules, too. In fact, I hate rules. Rules are stupid.
Anyway, the folks at Mahalo have compiled a list of the best evil robots from popular fiction, including movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, and even a rock album. They’re not ranked, nor are they listed alphabetically, so I’ll assume the 23 entries in the list were presented randomly. Surely the best evil robot is the T-1000 from Terminator 2. I mean, right? He’s on the list, and so are other obvious choices like Maximillian from The Black Hole, Megatron from Transformers (pictured, looking actually quite friendly in cartoon form) and the ED-209 from RoboCop. I love that they include Robin Williams’ creepy android from Bicentennial Man, too.
