Planet SSARGthe Snakes
[Part of the: Cadaverous Planets]

Possibly she emitted some kind of hidden strengthif not second sight (she knew when danger was and was not prominent; and all her being was telling her stand tall, be accountable, be as impressed as you feel with these creatures, they want you to be as amazed as they are with you, with them: and she was) for the vipers, for they now had gathered a hundred or so around her. Not blocking her passage, any which way, yet not getting confused which way she was going, and in that sense flopping over one another, laying dormant, looking up at her; and circling her, not in a harmful way, more in a careful, passive way; not obstructive, no, oh no, more dolce, more amicable, wanting her attention, her recognition, her leadership. Yes, they saw some hidden strength in her. She was aalmost a perfect looking woman as far as body went, a warriors shape, but feminine, and with heavy strong looking bones, tight skinned body, good muscle tone, an iron looking body: thighs like hard marble. She had not acquired all the scales the winters of Moiromma had put onto the inhabitants of that planet, the scares and scales their body needed, and needs to adjust to the winds and cold, their bodies were like deer skin lacking outward pores: they had pores, but underneath the scared tissue, for the skin did breath, but the scales, the scales, the coating, and caring covered them mostly, imperturbable, they were hard on the Moirommalit’s, she didn’t acquired them yet, had she stayed their longer, on that planet longer, they would have come automatically, but she didn’t stay there that long; thus, her body was still young, with open pores to sweat properly with, to emit her body fluids properly; she had only been there a short period of time. On earth a short period of time, in existence a short period of time; now here on the Grass Planet, less than an hour.

The red and black vipers, they stared at her feet, she sensed a few had a cruel and implacable mindblood shot eyes, for a few she noted, just a few, she name one in particular, that filled this description fully, that had more blood in its eyes than all the others, a horrid facehuge snake, forty feet long, and boar like tusks reaching out along side its inner gumsit could not close its mouth completely, a foot long was the sharp tusks, she named him ‘Blaze.’ But he moved carelessly, and she noticed it, as if ready to attack, it was not thinking that its foe was not the same as it was used to, she moved, but she didn’t move carelessly, rather cautiously, slowly, the other snakes remained unprovoked, stared at the challenging comrade, or perhaps Blaze was the leader, or wanted to become one, or remain its leader: there was not time to look into this now, nor did it matter.

Her muscles reacted to the snakes maneuvers before her brain hand time to tell them to, automatically, as if they had their own sensory receptors to such engagements, and went on alert mechanically. This giant stake was hostile, and her muscles became tense, harden like rocks, resentment and amazement filled the snake’s eyes: for she stood her ground.

Here were primitive instincts unmodified, on the part of both snake and Siren, Blazestaring at his new prey: the he noticed they were both staring at one another equally, and profoundly, her with a kind of sneer if not half smile.

Now Blaze started snapping his big huge head and fangs at her legs 800-pounds of his slimy body starting to coil around her as if she was a tree A word of scorn came out of its mouth, as if its vocal cords could put a few symbols together; ‘it’ also had second-sight, but ‘it’ did not have the DNA, to reason quick enough to put them symbols into words, only sounds The wild was in its soul, but if one was to compare these snakes to her DNA, they would find it 98% the same, but 2% or 20-million genes difference, made a big difference in not only war and strategy, but in comprehension, creativeness: it lacked what she had. The Snake leaped up and at her thigh: onto her. She met him head on, beast to beast, face to face, mind to mind, both reckless now, and both with instinct, and the creature was stronger than her, she concluded that quickly, as she kicked held his head back as it went for a second attack. The head had managed to stop a foot away from her thigh– in a desperate effort she grabbed the snakes head with both hands, while its body started to wind around her feet her torso, like a tree: it climbed: up, up, up, her legs, stomach and with a crushing embrace: face to face, beast to beast, mind to mind, she grabbed the skull of the snake, in-between its fangs and tusks, and right above its eyes, and with a bang, and solid bank like a stone falling twenty feet out of the sky: you could hear perhaps the bank a mile away, she took her head and with a thrust, hit the snake with her upper forehead so hard the snakes eyes popped out of its head, fell down to the ground like a leaf on a tree (sorry I keep using tree: as a reference source, but it seemed this way).

She knew, had the snake got a better hold on her, it would have crushed her bones, broke them like twigs on a tree, the antagonist was laying lopsided on the ground, luckily still alive, barley alive, I might say. Her spine was hurting also, but she was fine; sore but fine that is, as fine as one can be after a battle. Had it shifted more power to its jaws and quickly snapped at her face, she’d not have had a head this day left to think: mind to mind: she knew this, but it didn’t happen that way, and so that was that, it didn’t matter.

The snake: Blaze looked up, dumfounded, it had never experienced this before, and no creature could every have survived the clutches of such a powerful predator. Who was this living thing, the snake must had thought, it just stared, powerlessly stared. She knelt down, and put its eyes back into its sockets; crudely but nonetheless she accomplished it; she was sure there was some eye damage done, but it would not be told until another battle came about. Blaze had jerked back a bit, when she leaned over, but could not see, only see what she wanted him to seethe eyes had simply draped over its teeth: but not it was all put right back in place and it didn’t sense harm, Blaze didn’t sense harm was forthcoming out of this god deed she had done; and so it didn’t strike blindly, it accepted the pity, and the restoring of its sight.

As she started to stand back up, she let out a big sigh, her defensive stance was gone, her breath of air was pushed down into her stomach, and as she absorbed the moment, the victory: she had used every ounce of her strength, they, [they: they being the rest of the snakes] could have, had they wished to, devour her in a minutes time, and she hissed a long, long hiss: through her teeth.

She now sensed, felt, knew, she was the leader of not a hundred, but thousands of snakes, for you could hear the hissing, and the echoes of their hissing, their movements in the grass and more echoes and the moving of the grass all about her, as she stood victorious in the grassy fields of the planet SSARG: and she screamed so the world could hear.”

Interlude: Blaze

Iron Spirit
[The snakes think: instinctively]

“Yes, her body, the face, I have no memory of such a creature (he looks at his surroundings, the hundred or more snakes around him: his comrades). Am I not the future, or is she it? [Siren] it’s a feminine species of some kind, wiser than I; it returned to fix me: but why? Fear means death or flight. Pity, I’ve not seen it, but I sense it in her for me, the victim of madness, and her madness is controlled. She has an Iron Spirit. She could have vanquished me, consumed me. (Blaze deep in thought trying to retrieves some dark childhood solitary, memoriesbut could not for the most part, nor could he absorb the obvious, the unconscious told him there was nothing to retrieve other than automatic signs of danger: fight or flight. Thus, blank, no receptiveness to his wishful thinking; he did not only look, but was: like a still lake: like a mind full of swampy memories hidden deep in his mind, the vaults of his mind, the vaults hidden to such creatures like him, not to be open to such creatures like him, but to Siren they were, to ponder on, to reason out.)

“I was the sum of this order, the warrior snakes, I was, yes, I was the strength, measured by battle, but this ‘it,’ is here now, ‘it’ echoed something by the sounds ’si..rr..un [Siren]‘ I can act to that, if ‘it’ says it slow, it must be ‘it’s’ call, whatever. IT calls me ‘b..lazz [Blaze]‘ not sure why, perhaps everything has to have its own sound in a species like IT.”

[Dust cloud] They all, Siren and the snakes, with Blaze, had walked a small distance to an opening in the meadow, a raw opening with powered dirt and sand: mounds and mountains and cliffs in the far distance. As they walked farther into the plateau of dirt, she now could see all the snakes, the horde, which followed her, behind now, a cloud of dust (heat-vulcanized dust: or so it seemed with all these bodies rubbing against the surface of the earth, as if they were hard glazed rubber; their smooth bodies elastic like, harden dry and hardened from the sun now.)

Pop-up Ads - No Middle of the Road

Anyone working online and short of being blind has at one time or another come face-to-face with pop-up and pop-under advertisements.

There is no middle of the road here; you either love them or hate the little buggers!

Automatic pop-up and pop-unders are relatively new alternatives to more traditional advertising methods, but as with any method, one must be careful not to overdo.

Proper implementation of pop-up and pop-unders could be one of the efficient ways to reach your visitors with a targeted advertising message.

The decision whether or not to deploy them must be made very carefully and always keeping your visitors in mind when your site uses these ads.

By displaying just 1 window and only when necessary (usually when the visitor is leaving), you can get maximum results while still respecting your visitors.

Each marketer should evaluate their business to determine whether their site really needs this form of advertising. If you decide to forge on, control the size of the pop-up window. Do not block the visitors’ sight!

Do not utilize pop-ups or unders on your homepage. It may keep potential customers from revisiting your site, and always test your ads before making them public. Be certain they function well and make darn sure they are easy to close from a visitors’ standpoint.

If your pop-up and pop-under ads do not effectively bring about positive results, discontinue use immediately!

Also, if you choose an MLM company that has been in business a short time, you might make a bad choice. The MLM industry is full of opportunities, so make your choice wisely.

How Power Play Golf Fitness Has Changed The Game

The sensational entry into the game by legendary golfer Tiger Woods, at the tender age of 20, introduced power play golf fitness into a game that had traditionally been looked at as a leisure sport where technique was much more important and necessary than any physical fitness or strength.

Never before had the world witnessed such a physically fit golfer playing at the highest levels of the game.

Research has produced some amazing revelations about Tiger Woods and power play golf fitness.

For example it is widely known that golfers can generally achieve a club head speed of 100 M.P.H. at the bottom of their swing. Research however shows that Tiger Woods can reach up to 125 M.P.H. Little wonder that he is able to achieve those amazing distances with his drives.

Apart from the technique employed, fitness and the correct conditioning of the muscles plays a huge role. This is one of the reasons why many professionals also wishing to enjoy the benefits of power play golf fitness have taken to physical work-outs and strength training.

But how effective is strength training in improving a golfer’s game? In other words how effective is power play golf fitness?

Probably the best illustration of this is to examine the difference between junior golfers and adults. Actually the difference is typically strength.

I have personally worked with hundreds of junior golfers and within a very short time of doing specific strength training, their drives increased by as much as 50 yards.

That is how effective strength training can be. And when you really think about it, it is the factor that is making the difference between golfers on the course these days.

Actually there is little doubt that power play golf fitness will continue to transform the golf game for a long time to come.

‘Miss’-story

Many ‘fabulous’ personages and concepts are created by man. Some are attempts to make sense of a confusing array of real things man doesn’t understand, others are created by those who would have us ‘believe’. The art of making others ‘believe’ what you want them to, is an art that developed over millions of years even if man is only modern for the last hundred thousand years. ‘As you believe so shall you do’ and fables which set early modes of relating to our environment in nursery rhymes and other equally ‘fabulous’ or fantastic histories. Revisionist history was definitely begun in earnest during the Babylonian and early Greek era. By the time of Alexander he was so convinced this art was achievable that he declared himself a divine creature and no longer just used the ‘descended from’ divine or demi-god fiction. All knowledge was to become Hellenized or made to fit the needs of his Empire.

We have perfected this art against our ‘brothers’ and for the benefit of the few and their minions to the point that it requires a sincere willingness to courageously demonstrate independent thinking and questioning in the face of ridicule and worse. Little of what was believed in the last century is thought to be true today but that does not mean we are closer to the real truth. In fact we may have a more thoroughly manipulated image of our supposed reality than the 19th century elitists who wrote with some excitement about what could be.

The almighty dollar and the increasing social support network is a positive re-inforcer of mass behavior. B. F. Skinner was certainly a bad person for doing what he did to his daughter (keeping her in his attic, etc.) but he was the maven or guru of behavioral psychology and knew what society was headed towards and why; to an extent that his name was synonymous with the word behavior. He said the feudal ‘negative reinforcers’ like serfdom and whippings actually left a greater freedom for the masses than our great education from birth to grave. Taxes to provide the very controls which we are led to believe we want; might well be why Joseph Kennedy, Sr. (a true villain) told his kids the way to power was going to be in government as he prepared to buy the Presidency for Joe Jr., and eventually Jack.

There was no need to tell the truth when great fiction writers could be bought and the image of ‘Camelot’ and the Kennedy clan was created. We now know that Jackie was probably the world’s highest paid courtesan for her brief time spent with Onassis. A detailed look at their marriage agreement would amaze even the most jaundiced and cynical person. Arts and Entertainment did a decent documentary that showed some of the Chicago mob involvement in the making of what many still consider to be the best American President ever. Jack was a drug abuser and lecher who misused his fellow man in the image and model of his stock swindling drug or alcohol running parent. It isn’t so much what they did as how they manipulated the media. In Watergate everyone got to see Nixon try to do it on national TV every night for months. Still we think what we are told has some semblance of truth, or at least the majority of people do, as they follow the footsteps laid out for them.

FAINT-HEARTED:

The faint of heart include those who have serious causes and philanthropical intentions as well as the great unwashed. It is easy to hide oneself in the intensity of any number of issues while losing sight of the real underlying causes of all the concerns that permeate our great society. When we learn to avoid confrontation and begin to accept the polite purpose promulgated by peer pressure we lose perspective and actually support the prevailing ethic of deceit. In fact it is a good thing to share one’s thoughts about sex, religion and politics despite the taboos against such behavior.

Yes, it might not make you popular and it certainly puts you in some sticky situations; in the end if you go along with the game and take your piece of the action what might your karma be? Are we not responsible for what is happening at the hands of our collective governments because we participate in the apparent benefits and vote to maintain such frauds and guises of deceit? Why allow your children to be taught the lies of history? Why listen to the same tired clich?s and rationalizations about ‘What can one man do?’ or ‘You can’t fight City Hall!’ I imagine if you were put inside the skin of an Ethiopian or Saudi woman you would find a reason to fight. I know most people want to believe there is justice rather than vengeance in the hearts of our police and penal guards who work for empires of amazing incompetence while fighting to get a piece of the ‘pad’ or drug action. Who really knows what effect the drugs given mental patients have? Is not the straight-jacket actually more humane than burning or destroying brain cells and ‘libido’, in pursuit of making people ‘manageable’? Did you know they try to sell ECT’s as a boon to the elderly while they force Ritalin (an amphetamine, gateway drug) down the throats of children?

5 Proven Techniques to Build a Profitable Web Forum

You may have heard that having a web community is a great way to increase sales, customer loyalty and word of mouth for your web business. In fact a web community itself, if large enough and targeting an affluent demographic (or one that advertisers like to target), has the potential to bring in revenue. Commonly people use a web forum as the centre point for a web community. However building a popular forum is no easy task and requires patience and dedication.

Start at the beginning: Which forum software should I use?

Perhaps the least important variable, but certainly a vital aspect, is the forum software you choose. I came to settle on Invision Board as my favourite forum of choice. Over the years I became very familiar with Invison Board functions so it would take a lot for me to switch to different forum software. Unfortunately the team at Invision recently stopped offering a fully functional free version and the most current free version has limitations on numbers of users. I’m a strong supporter of Invision so I still recommend using the free service and then paying to upgrade once your board is large enough to warrant it. Chances are with your forum being that popular means you can justify the fee anyway.

The other top quality free forum out there is phpBB which is the open source offering. I haven’t used this myself but with Invision no longer being free I can see this being the main player for all small business forums. I see this forum everywhere so I think you can take that as a strong endorsement.

Another popular choice, especially for large companies that can afford the fee is vBulletin. This seems to the professional forum of choice for those with the moolah to afford it. I only played with this forum many years ago when they had a limited use free version (in fact it was the first forum I ever installed). It’s definitely a top forum with a great design, but you pay for it.

As I said which forum software you choose is not too important. You are going to have to learn to use at least one, so choose the one that satisfies your criteria and then get playing. If the idea of installing forum software is daunting to you then I suggest you look at the installation services most forum businesses offer. You can pay a small fee and one of the staff or community members will install the software for you. There are also remotely hosted forums where you don’t install any software at all on your server but instead use one hosted by the forum company. Note this often either costs money or is advertiser supported so you might have some icky banners or other ads streamed across your forum. I recommend you host the forum on your own server because you get control, ownership and better search engine benefits.

How to attract and keep members

Regardless of which forum software you choose the hardest part of building a community is getting members, and members that stick around. Obviously your forum should be targeted to your business niche or target market if it’s not a business site.

Picking the niche area you target is vital for success, and the individual forums you create for your community must clearly represent the purpose of your community. However this is where some lessons can be learnt. At first when you start building categories and individual forums you might get carried away with all the interesting forums you can create. You dream of your users lapping it up and talking away about every little area of interest you can come up with. This is the first major mistake you can make. You end up creating way too many forums that have no topics in them. Even if you do manage to bring some quality visitors to your site, they hit your forum and see an empty place and then move on. No one feels compelled to join an empty forum.

But you may ask then, how can you go from having an empty forum to one filled with topics when no one wants to get things started? It’s a catch 22 isn’t it! The number one concept to remember is that people bring in people. If visitors see topics and posts and discussions they are interested in they are more likely to contribute. It’s hardest early on when you first launch but there are some tricks you can do. Here are the key pointers I’ve learnt to get passed this early stage of a ghost-town forum.

1. Think minimalist when building categories and forums

Look to about four forums maximum to start with, even less if possible. If you find yourself coming up with many different forum subjects, try and group them together under one forum. Then in that forum you can create individual topic posts to cater to each area. That way you are creating conversation starters and making the place look a little busier. As the forums grow and you have enough individual entries to start breaking down forums you can justify creating new ones. You can then move the existing topics into the appropriate categories and the forum doesn’t start off empty.

2. As the owner you must keep contributing

This might seem obvious, but it’s hard to keep motivated when week after week you create new topics and try to stimulate conversation and you seem to be talking to yourself. Personally I get the most excited when I first build the forum, thinking of all the great topics that can be discussed. Unfortunately once everything is done it does take some effort to keep writing fresh content. The only rule I can give is stick to it. Get into a routine of making a few posts everyday.

Expanding on this idea…

3. Create some fake personalities

This may seem a little dishonest, but a little trick you can use to stimulate conversation is to create a few different member accounts each with their own personality. Basically you create some fictional members and get posting. You can even have full forum conversations between your characters (just don’t go insane!). Only you know which characters are fake. To everyone else it appears as if your forum is getting popular.

I had a friend take this idea so seriously that he kept profile notes on each character such as age, sex, personality type, occupation etc so whenever he made posts he made sure to get into character first. It’s like forum acting.

This method again takes dedication because you need to keep logging in with each character and making new posts. However it can be MUCH more effective than if it was just you making all the posts as your own identity. It looks sad when the webmaster is chatting away to no one, but not quite as sad when Jim, Katie, Chris and Jane are having conversations even if they really are all controlled by the webmaster.

4. Publish content

There are sites available such as Ezine Articles that have articles you are allowed to publish on your site provided you follow their terms of use policy (which usually means you publish the articles exactly as they are and keep all links intact). The authors of these articles make them free because they get good promotion if their article is widely published. Note that because these are free articles you will most likely find that you are not the only site out there with the content.

If you want unique content you may have to pay for it and consider hiring columnists. With MTGParadise.com we had such a good community that many of our members were happy to write articles and reports for free. They enjoyed writing and seeing their article published. It’s not easy to generate free unique articles this way especially early on before you have a community running, so it might be necessary to throw around a little cash and buy some articles.

If you can find content relevant to your market and distribute it to your community you have a good way to stimulate conversation and make your forum look a little busier.

5. Recruit your mates and spread the word

This is harder than you’d think. If you are like me, most of my closest friends are too busy or not really the forum community types so they won’t help out much. Generally though you should have a few friends that are interested in the topic of your forum and they might help out with a post every now and then. Don’t put to much pressure on them and be thankful for anything they contribute. You don’t want to get carried away trying to get your forum off the ground that you lose your friends because you constantly pester them to make posts or join up.

As a general rule, don’t be shy; tell everyone you know about your forum. But only do it once in a polite manner. Say you are inviting them to check out something you have created and that you want their valuable opinion before you officially launch. This “sneak peek” will make your friends and family feel special because you are demonstrating that you value their opinion so they will be more inclined to check out your site.

You can put a note in your signature file in your email about your new community, make a few posts at newsgroups that focus on your target market and hit some other complimentary (not competitor) forums to advertise your new forum. Remember always be courteous, follow rules and don’t come across too desperate whenever you promote your forum. All this will come across negatively and harm your chances of new members signing up.

Don’t give up

The most important tip I can give you to grow your community is to not give up. Even though YoungActivist.com is sitting out there all alone with no members and very old content I still value the site. While I didn’t achieve the success I wanted off the bat, I haven’t given up and hope that one day can I can get the site growing again.

Sometime after months, maybe even years of making new posts, adding content and spreading the word, you will find that your forum has grown to have a few hundred members, a handful of devoted regulars and no longer requires daily injections of posts from you. You reach a critical mass and your community moves forward without too much intervention from you. This is the holy grail of forum building because your members became the best advertising tool you could ever have. Word of mouth helps the site to continue to grow and attract new members. You can start creating new forums with confidence that they won’t be empty for long. Best of all, you now have an audience that you can either leverage around your own products or services or start to derive revenue from through advertising, premium services or subscriptions etc.

Cheap Website Promotion in Birmingham

People are always wanting to attract more visitors to their website. We all would like to see more traffic, however what are the best ways to promote a website, which does not cost an arm and a leg?

1. Pay per click advertising.

Pay per click advertising is becoming more and more popular with programs such as Google adwords reporting bigger profits on a regular basis. This is a way of getting your website on the first or second pages by you paying an advertising fee. You set the amount you are happy to pay per click and when somebody clicks on your ad, you have an extra visitor, however at a cost to you. It is important to remember not to spend more on the pay per click advertising than what you are likely to earn etc.

2. Writing articles.

Writing articles such as this one is a good way of promoting your website. Article websites such as http://www.ezinearticles.com and http://www.goarticles.com allow you to submit your articles for free. Other webmasters are able to use your articles on their website which gives you an extra backward link as you are able to add you website address at the bottom of the article.
People who are reading the article on the article websites are also potential visitors.

3. Obtaining backward links.

If you are looking to increase your search engine position it is a good idea to try to increase the amount of backward links you have. This is not as easy as it seems as people are not always happy to add a link on their site to your homepage. It is worth making a few phone calls or sending a few e-mails and asking the question, if the person would like to exchange links. It is of more value to have a link from a website in the same type trade of your own.

4. Always include your domain address in advertising.

Wherever you advertise it is important to include your website domain address, and also at the bottom of any e-mails you send.
